Classic City Villa Restoration - September 2017

Exterior Close in 95% Complete

Works have progressed significantly on this building. In fact since these photos the cladding and windows are now 95 % complete.

When a project reaches it’s “closed in” stage it is approximately 55% through. Once we have a water tight envelop the painters start on the exterior as we move in to start with the services - electrical, plumbing, gas , data etc. Then the house will be insulated and the wall and ceiling linings installed. Once the linings are up you get a real sense of the spaces. This is when the fun starts for the owner as they see the building taking shape as many have trouble visualising what the building will be like off the drawings.

In the next update you will start to see the finishing details being installed as we move towards completion in the early new year.

Historic Home Renovation - September 2017

Structural Works

The form of this structure is nearly complete and the wrap around veranda structure is all but built as shown in these images.

We have installed the roofs to the veranda and re-clad the balance of the existing house since these images were taken. This building is now two weeks away from the services being installed, insulation and then wall linings.

This home is having a bespoke kitchen with a combination of finishes. The architect owner and subcontractors are working through the fine detail now. I’m looking forward to see how the interior comes together. Check back in the next post...

Classic City Villa Restoration - June 2017

Groundworks

This featured project is a renovation designed by Stephen Jones Architects in St Marys Bay. Many of the projects you see on our website are designed by Stephen and his team. If you are considering a renovation, additional or alteration to a heritage home, Stephen’s understanding, design capabilities and the quality of his documentation make him a good point of call.

These images show the road front view and groundworks started at the back of the property. Further images will be posted as the project develops to show the level of detail and work required for renovations such as these.

Historic Home Renovation - June 2017

Demolition and structural works

We are going to be posting some images of our current projects to give you an idea of some of the cool work we are involved with. Here are some images of a renovation recently started in Mt Eden designed by Chris Wood from Christopher Wood Architects. Chris spent several years working for a renowned high end residential architectural practice before establishing his own practice. We are excited to be working with him. He has some fantastic ideas and brings some real design flair to his projects. Keep an eye out for updated images over the coming months.

If you are considering a future project feel free to call me to discuss designers that are suitable for your project. I’m happy to make recommendations. We can also assist through the design process by providing budgets on conceptual drawings to ensure that the design meets your construction budget. It is all part of good team work.

Reflecting on 2016

14th December 2016

I was reflecting on 2016 as it comes to a close. For us it has been an interesting year with some great projects completed and some others progressing well with finishing dates early in 2017. There is strong demand in the market and we have some exciting projects in the pipeline for 2017.

I’d like to thank the clients that chose us to complete their homes this year and also I’d like to thank the architects and designers who recommend and trust us to clients to consider using our services.

Finally I’d like to thank our sub-contractor teams that we work closely with. We rely on their support and expertise to be able to offer our services to our clients.

One of the highlights for me this year was winning another gold medal in the 2016 Master Builders House of the Year competition for a renovation we completed in Devonport. This property is now up on our website under PROJECTS called Classic Villa Restoration. It is great to achieve recognition for the team for all the hard work we put in to get the projects to the finishing line. We have a couple of exciting entries for the 2017 competition we will keep you updated as 2017 progresses.

Remember the key to keeping your home in good condition and ensuring that your product warranties remain valid is regular maintenance of your home. If you require any advice or recommendations on people that can assist you with this feel free to contact me.

From all of the Shore Build team we wish you the compliments of the season and hope you have a great summer break.

Positive Outlook for 2015

22 January 2015

2014 was a year that we hope will see the end of the building drought for a while. Since the election we have seen an upturn in enquiry and all indications are that it will continue for a few years to come. A strong construction industry is a good indicator for a strong economy. Usually the prosperity filters to other industries.

HOUSE OF THE YEAR Produces a win
We were delighted to receive a Silver award at the 2014 RMB House of the Year competition in the Future-Proof Building Renovation Award over $500,000. See BUNGALOW TRANSFORMATION (NEW) under Projects or click here.

We've secured some fantastic projects that will take us well into 2015. If you are considering working on your property or other projects, early new year would be a good time to talk to us so that we can make sure all documentation and permits are in hand prior to a mid year kick off.

Wishing you well for your endeavours in 2015.
